Your Face May Reveal your Sexual Attitude

Researchers at Durham University has found that people judge others by their face when it comes to sexual attitudes.

Men prefer women that they perceive as being open to short-term sexual relationships, while women want men that appear to be open to long-term relationships.

Subjects were shown facial photos of people of the opposite sex, and asked to rate their attractiveness and to try to judge what the person in the photo's attitude toward sex was (interested in short-term or long-term).

The photographed people were all in their 20's, and they had filled out questionnaires about their sexual attitudes.

The study found that both men and women were generally able to judge a person's sexual attitude from pictures of their face; 72% of participants judged correctly more than half the time.

Women who are open to casual sex tend to be seen as more attractive by other people. And men who were interested in casual sex were seen as being more masculine, having a stronger jaw, larger nose, and smaller eyes.
Previous research has shown that women see more masculine men as being worse long-term partners; possibly because they see them as being more likely to cheat or a worse potential father.

So when you look at someone's face, you may unconsciously be judging them as a potential mate. But keep in mind that these are subtle clues and you should not assume anything by a person's face alone.
